DRACHTEN-AZEVEN – There was a car brand on the Wâldwei (N31) near Drachten on Tuesday afternoon. The driver managed to park his vehicle safely at a refuge around 4:10 p.m.

The Ureterp fire brigade was called to the mark on the roadway in the direction of Leeuwarden.

The car brand was probably extinguished with a mobile fire extinguisher. As a result of the extinguishing work, heavy smoke developed on the road for some time.

The police, ambulance and fire brigade rushed to the scene to help the driver. Traffic was able to drive past the scene of the car fire in one lane.
